New Director of Sport Shane Cloete to join Clifton High School in September 2023
We are delighted that Mr Shane Cloete will be joining Clifton High School as our new Director of Sport, bringing a wealth of experience in grassroots and international sport as well as in education.
Mr Cloete is a former professional cricketer and coach from Zimbabwe where he played as a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. He was also extensively involved in professional cricket as a coach and manager, working at the highest level within Zimbabwe Cricket during their rise to International Test Status.
Since then, he has led Sports departments in various schools, most recently as Director of Sport at John Lyon School, Harrow. Previously, he worked at The Duke of York’s Royal Military School, Dauntsey’s School and Epsom College.
Mr Cloete is passionate about developing and leading a ‘Sports for Life’ sporting programme for pupils, based on a foundation of meaningful relationships, mutual respect, and a strong sense of responsibility. In his spare time, Mr Cloete enjoys playing golf, squash, tennis and of course, cricket. He also enjoys travelling and spending quality time with his family.
Mr Cloete is very much looking forward to starting as Director of Sport and being fully embedded in the School community from September 2023.
