Children starting pre-school is an important and personal milestone for every family.
This early transition marks the beginning of new experiences and opportunities for children to embark upon a journey of personal and academic development that will shape their future.
OUR ADMISSIONS PROCESS
1. VISIT US |
---|
Pre-School children join The Hive after their third birthday, at the start of a half term. Due to the more bespoke nature of entry at this young age, we warmly welcome families to book an individual tour with our Admissions Team to view The Hive Pre-School on a typical School day. During a tour, families are afforded the opportunity to speak to our current pupils and teachers, wander around The Hive Pre-School’s facilities and get a feel for our vibrant whole School community. We encourage families to enquire at their earliest opportunity, so we are able to provide them with their preferred date and time. |
2. REGISTER WITH US |
Once you have visited us and would like to register your interest in joining our School, please contact the Admissions Team who will provide you with details of registration, prepare an offer pack, and politely request an acceptance deposit of £495 along with the relevant paperwork. This offer will be conditional, based upon the requirements listed in steps 3 and 4. |
3. ASSESSMENT MORNING AND REFERENCE |
Closer to the time of entry and your child's third birthday, those families who have secured a place at The Hive Pre-School will be invited to attend an assessment morning. This is an opportunity for staff members of The Hive Pre-School to familiarise themselves with your child in a relaxed and informal setting, alongside other children currently in The Hive Pre-School. This is an opportunity for both parties to ensure the School is the right fit and ensure that children are meeting the relevant EYFS milestones for their age in line with the Government Framework 'Development Matters'. For further information, please refer to the Admissions Policy linked here. With prior permission from the family, we also request a confidential reference from each child's current nursery or registered childcare provider. |
4. MEET THE HEAD OF INFANT AND JUNIOR SCHOOL |
As part of our bespoke induction process, The Hive Pre-School offers parents the opportunity to meet with our Head of Infant and Junior School, Mrs Alice Taylor. She is always delighted to meet with potential families, as too are all members of staff who are happy to answer any questions that may arise about our School. |
5. CONFIRMATION OF A PLACE |
After a successful assessment morning and upon receipt of a satisfactory reference, the Admissions Team will confirm your child's place in The Hive Pre-School. If for any reason, the assessment morning or reference are not satisfactory, families will be informed and have their deposit returned with as much notice as possible. |
6. TRANSITION INTO THE HIVE |
Prior to starting full time in The Hive Pre-School, children will be invited to attend two taster mornings as part of their transition into Clifton High School. Our friendly Admissions Department is always on-hand to offer advice, answer any questions and provide families with all the necessary information about life in The Hive Pre-School including the purchase of uniform and arrangements for your child’s start date. Once children are officially enrolled in The Hive Pre-School, class teachers will become the first point of contact. We appreciate the transition to any pre-school environment can be both exciting and daunting for parents and their children. However, we are confident that all our new pupils will relish in their new setting, quickly adapting to Clifton High School life, adjusting to the routines and making new friends. |
