CLIFTON VILLAGE

Clifton High School is centrally located in Clifton Village, a picturesque area in the heart of Bristol.  Overlooking the Avon River and home to the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, it is known for historical architecture of the Georgian and Regency era, charming buildings and a vibrant atmosphere.

Clifton Village sits amidst beautiful green spaces that afford visitors and locals alike with captivating views across the Avon Gorge, leisurely walks or more active pursuits on Durdham and Clifton Downs or within the grounds of Ashton Court. The School immerses itself in the local community and is fortunate to be a short walk from a plethora of independent restaurants, cafes, shops as well as the buzz of the City centre.

Named amongst the Best Places to Live in the UK 2023 by The Sunday Times, Bristol is within easy access to the Southwest Coast of England and neighbouring Wales.  It is host to many music festivals, cultural celebrations, art exhibitions, sporting events and the renowned annual Balloon Fiesta.

There are many local and national transport links with regular bus services and Clifton Down Train station is only a 15-minute walk away from the School. Whilst we do not have on-site parking, we offer staff the opportunity to purchase a local parking permit. There are also many private and street parking options within short walking distances to the School.

With its colourful and creative reputation, Bristol is a city that encourages an equally like-minded personality, generating a diverse community.

We suggest you come and see for yourself what opportunities may arise from working in or relocating to a characterful location both within and beyond the gates of Clifton High School.
