The Hive is Clifton High School’s nurturing Pre-School. It is a hub encouraging learning growth that reassures parents of our commitment to supporting their young child from the outset.
Through our first-class teaching and intuitive commitment to wellbeing, we expect every child to leave The Hive Pre-School as happy, confident and inquisitive individuals.
Our Teaching Team consists of Early Years Foundation Stage specialist teaching staff who are supported by experienced, well-qualified teaching assistants. Their collective role is to provide inspiring, passionate teaching in small groups with a remarkable staff-to-child ratio of 1:9 or better. Working with an open-door and open-communication policy drives a commitment to developing positive relationships with the child, as well as the parent, creating a mutually supportive community.
The emphasis on learning in The Hive Pre-School is based upon exploration, investigation, discovery and problem solving. The individuality of all children is celebrated, enhanced by a proactive approach to unearthing talent whilst building self-confidence, all within the realms of a rounded and holistic environment.
The Hive Pre-School offers a year-round provision with the option of full-time, part-time or term-time only. On-site care is provided from 8.00am to 6.00pm with the inclusion of three nutritionally balanced meals, plus snacks for the children to accommodate family circumstances.
