CLIFTON HIGH SCHOOL'S 'SIX MIX' EVENT

Clifton High School's 'Six Mix' Event

Clifton High School is well versed in transition, ensuring a seamless process for all families that are either already part of our community or look forward to joining us. Whether your child is a current pupil of our Junior School or is joining from another school, they are welcomed and embedded into the year group with compassion and an understanding of the milestone.

Pupils in Year 6 at Clifton High School, a private school in Bristol. Our annual ‘Six Mix’ event is one whereby all pupils gather for a fun evening of games, activities and pizza that afford the opportunity for friendships to be established, reinforced and anticipated. Hosted by Mr Luke Goodman, Head of School, Ms Rebecca Bartlett, Head of Year 7, our friendly Admissions Team and the dynamic Year 7 staff members, children experience a glimpse of the teaching personalities they will encounter during their first year of Senior School life.

"It is a pleasure to coordinate the Six Mix event together with the Admissions and Year 7 teaching teams. We actively observe an excited cohort of pupils on the brink of a significant moment in their academic journey as they prepare to bid farewell to their Junior School years to step into the realms of Senior School life; a much anticipated and exciting milestone to be firmly stored in their memories."

Ms Rebecca Bartlett, Head of Year 7

This year, we hosted the Six Mix on Thursday 25th April 2024 in the Main Hall.  Organised by Ms Bartlett and the Admissions Team, the eager group of eighty children were split into mixed groups to interact in an Escape Room challenge, based on a series of quiz questions.  The aim of this team building game was to discover the key to open a treasure chest full of edible goodies.

As we anticipate the Autumn Term and its significant turning point in a child’s education, from the familiar surroundings of a Junior school to the new senior environment of Clifton High School, we very much look forward to realising and leveraging the individual needs, interests and brilliance of all our transitioning Year 6 pupils.
