Last Thursday, all Year 7 pupils boarded the coach to Cobbs Cross Farm in Bridgwater, also known as Secret Valley campsite, for their bonding trip.
During this important event in the Clifton High calendar, pupils were able to socialise and get to know their peers and tutor team outside of the classroom environment. Pupils also participated in a multitude of outdoor adventurous activities including; high and low ropes, kayaking and raft building, orienteering and a number of team games. These activities encouraged pupils to push themselves outside of their comfort zone and in doing so, develop their self-confidence by achieving new heights; either literally on the high ropes course, or mentally by overcoming their fears on the water. During the orienteering session, pupils were set the challenge of finding one marker which hadn’t be found for 3 years, and in true Clifton High School style one group rose to the challenge to be ambitious, and located the marker.
The weather was favourable with the sun shining all day on the first day and the rain holding off with the exception of one shower on the second day.
All children enjoyed feasting on delicious, home cooked food over the two days and slept well in the comfort of the wooden glamping yurts.
The year group represented the school admirably throughout.
