Clifton High’s Young Enterprise team, The Daily Grind, recently went to the Young Enterprise Area Heat Semi-Final with their handmade rustic copper coffee filter, competing against twelve other local schools.
The team travelled to Bristol and Bath Science Park, where they set up their stall and practised for their ‘Dragon’s Den’ style pitch. At 5.00pm, the judging began and the judging panel asked the pupils questions about their businesses, such as what it was about, how they came up with the idea for their business and the journey they've had so far. Pupils answered all the questions very well, engaging with the judges and explaining about their enterprise. Following this, the team gave a four-minute talk on their enterprise and product.
At the end of the day, pupils found out that they had secured a place in the South West Finals on Wednesday 25th April, where they will compete for a place in the national finals. Well done to everyone involved!
