During their first week back at School, Year 1 visited Tyntesfield National Trust House and Gardens, where they learnt what playtime was like for Victorian children.
They took part in team games of the time and played with authentic Victorian toys, such as acrobatic monkeys, quoits, and Jacob’s ladders; their favourite toy was the Thaumatropes.
They all enjoyed an excellent educational day as well as having lots of fun.
Did you know? During the Second World War, boarders of Clifton High did not sleep at the School, but stayed at Tyntesfield for safety.
