On Friday 16th June, the Clifton High Masterclasses Bus visited St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Bradley Stoke to deliver the final masterclass of the term. Thirty pupils participated in ‘Mission: CPR’, a national CPR training initiative from Bristol Heart Foundation which aims to raise awareness about heart disease and to teach school pupils the important life skill, CPR.
The pupils were taught child and adult CPR by Clifton High School staff, as well as how to put a casualty into the recovery position and how to use a defibrillator. CPR was demonstrated using a state-of-the art CPR training kit and all thirty pupils learnt how to act in an emergency if someone has a cardiac arrest.
All St Mary’s pupils were mature and engaged throughout the masterclass, demonstrating excellent focus and calm under pressure.
